OPI Design Series: Classic

OPI Design Series Classic is a gorgeous, holographic, caramel-colored polish. It has a good formula that goes opaque in two coats. I really like this polish. It's subtle and ladylike, but is also textured and interesting without making your nails scream, "LOOK AT US! HEY! DOWN HERE! WE'RE BLUE WITH PURPLE SEAHORSE-SHAPED GLITTER!" Which is all well and good, but as awesome as seahorse nails are, they are a little hard to explain at work. This polish is more like, "Hey there, we're a warm, toasty beige color, and if you look at us a moment longer, you'll see that we're shimmery and almost incandescent, but not in a gaudy way."

Yes, I realize I just made my nail polish speak. It's been a busy week at work and apparently it's making me a little slap-happy. :)

China Glaze Ahoy

China Glaze Ahoy is a bright pink with tiny glass-gold flecks. So pretty and bright! Good formula: two coats for coverage. This polish is from China Glaze's 2011 summer collection, a collection that has produced more than a few of my current favorite polishes (First Mate, a blue cream; Hey Sailor, a super-bright pin-up red with my favorite polish name ever; Sea Spray, a pale, subtle, silvery grey-blue).

Sinful Colors Leap Frog

Short and sweet today: I have Leap Frog from Sinful Colors. LF is a dusty green teal cream. I think this is going to be a pretty color for the fall. The formula is not great, but it is workable. It's a little gloppy and would probably benefit from a few drops of polish thinner.

China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise

Turned Up Turquoise is great polish for neon lovers or teal lovers. This polish has a nice formula that is opaque in two coats. It dries matte, which is standard for neons. A top-coat not only makes it shiny (which I prefer), but also shows an almost velvety-looking texture (you can click on the last photo below to see this up close).

Georgia's Fourth of July Manicure

My cute little friend, Georgia, is off to summer camp, and in honor of her departure, I told her I would do any manicure she wanted. She chose a water marble, and decided to do red, white, and blue, in honor of the Fourth of July. The polishes are are: China Glaze Hey Sailor (red) and First Mate (blue), and Wet n' Wild French Creme (white).
