Blue Valentine Nails

Here is an alternative Valentine's Day manicure to the surfeit of pinks and reds: The Blue Valentine Manicure. After all, love can be wonderful, but it can also suck beyond the telling of it, so I wanted to make something that looked a bit sad and gloomy but cute and pretty, too. The blue background is a mixture of several different colors, blended together using acetone (similar technique to water color manis). The sparkly blue heart is a combination of stamping and freehand. I started with a Red Angel stamp and then freehanded over it to make it more irregular in shape and color. All together, this manicure was a bit epic, but I'm happy with the result. :)

  1. So lovely! I did some blue valentine nails too. It just seems necessary with all of the pink & red going around this time of year!
