Granite Water Marble

For this water marble, I used OPI My Private Jet, OPI Moon Over Mumbai, China Glaze 2030, and Sinful Colors Black on Black. I loved this manicure! I would really love to be able to reliably recreate the effect that's on the middle finger, since it comes the closest to the coveted cosmic nails that I've been able to get.

Turquoise Water Marble

For this water marble, I used China Glaze For Audrey, Revlon Jaded, Essie Turquoise & Caicos, and Essie Little Brown Dress. I was trying to create the look of a piece of a cross-section of turquoise. The result wasn't quite what I had in mind, but I was happy with it anyway :)

Greige Bandanna

For this manicure I used Sinful Colors Nirvana. For the stamp, I used Wet n Wild French White Creme and Mash plate 64. Topcoat: Orly Glosser. I think I'm in the minority among nail polish bloggers in that I have never used Seche Vite. It's definitely the favorite, so I'll have to give it a try. I have been very happy with Orly Glosser, though.

Blue Water Marble

Anything I understand about water marbling I owe to Colette's awesome tutorials and also the tutorials at ilovemylongnails. I do not yet have their ability to reproduce the same pattern on each of my nails, but I will say that there is something I like about the randomness of each nail pattern being a little (or in the case of this manicure, a lot) different from the others. Note: I included the photo of my right hand even though it is a little out of focus-- I was having trouble working the camera with my left hand. For this manicure, I used: Orly Star of Bombay, Sally Hansen Celeb City*, and Wet n Wild Rain Check.
*I've been phasing out nail polishes that test on animals, mostly by not buying new polishes from companies that do.

Newspaper Nails

This is my first attempt at Newspaper Nails. It was surprising easy, thanks to some excellent instructions from Confessions Of a Polishaholic. I used Essie Playa Del Platinum, rubbing alcohol, and a copy of the Brattleboro Reformer.

*I made another more successful attempt, which can be viewed here.
